OK, so the first question is - why wouldn't I blog about doughnuts?! I mean, they're just so colourful, fun and delicious and if you dig around a bit, they have an awesome history! I love all things doughnuts but there's a deeper reason why I chose to blog about them. Life changes and so do iLife takes funny turns sometimes, doesn't it?! One minute I'm a fit, fairly healthy person and the next minute I have ME (cue the violins!). I honestly never saw it coming, so when I was told all about it, I thought my life was over. So, I did what any normal person would do. I went and hid and had a pity party! It took me a few days to get my head around what having this illness meant for me and my family but when I came out of the party I knew I needed something that would help me when the days get tough, days when I feel useless or days when I can barely move but my brain is still working those little grey cells ( Hercule Poirot fan over here!). Enter the doughnuts!I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love doughnuts. They are perfect comfort food and a great way to talk over your problems with someone. There’s nothing better than sitting with friends/family, eating doughnuts, drinking coffee and putting the world to rights or talking about the things that are worrying you.
So it's not surprising to anyone that when I wanted something to focus on, that I chose doughnuts! I hope with this blog that not only will I fulfil my doughnut needs, and yours, but also help others to know that when life gives you lemons that you know you can throw them back, yelling "Give me some doughnuts instead!" Love Dayle xx
